To help make your planning that little bit easier we have put together a list of recommendations of nearby Pubs, Restaurants, Irish Entertainment and tours that we think are some of the best that Dublin has to offer.

Restaurants:

Nearby Bar Style Food –
The Barge Pub located only a 2 minute walk from the guest house is a convenient choice if you do not feel like venturing too far. Enjoy simple, wholesome Irish fare that offers value for money at this Pub. Click here to view location/directions

Foley's Bar and Restaurant
on Merrion Row beside St. Stephens Green is about an 8 minute walk from the guest house. Foleys offers both bar and restaurant menus both of which offer a wide and varied selection of choices, including a number of typical Irish dishes. It’s not a bad spot for a pint of Guinness either! O’Neills on Suffolk Street is an old favourite for decades and it is famous for its authentic offering of traditional irish food and carvery style lunches. A great atmosphere guaranteed too. Click here to view location/directions

Something more special:
Peploes on the Green is a personal favourite and an excellent choice if you are looking for something a bit more special. Modeled on the famous ‘Ivy’ restaurant in London but with an Irish twist, Peploes offers both a bar menu and an excellent fine dining menu. This restaurant also has one of the finest wine menus in Dublin. Click here to view location/directions.

Ely Wine Bar on Ely Place is another favourite. They offer a delicious and varied menu of European style cuisine in intimate and cosy surroundings. Click here to view location/directions

Popular Pubs offering Irish traditional music
O’Donoghues on Merrion Row is famous old Irish haunt and was often credited with the discovery of some of Ireland's best  traditional irish musicians including the Chieftans and the Dubliners. Click here to view location/directions.

Oliver St. John Gogartys Pub in Temple Bar is a regular stop for many tourists who are in search of an evening of authentic Irish music. This pub whilst is popular with tourists is also a favourite amongst the locals as the atmosphere is electric and the musicians are truly superb. Click here to view location/directions.

The Brazen Head located in the historic Christ Church area is Dublin’s oldest pub and it serves a great pint of Guinness. Click here to view location/directions.

Irish Dancing and Music Shows
The Arlington Hotel located in Temple Bar and beside O’Connell Bridge offers one of the best Irish dancing shows in the city. You can enjoy a dinner and show package from only €24.50 per person. Otherwise you can view the show free of charge in the bar if you purchase drinks. Click here to view location/directions.

The Irish House Party
This is definitely a show that is worth considering if you are looking for something fun and lively,  that has all the elements of Irish music and dancing but perhaps not as twee as some shows. The venue is approximately a 20 minute walk from the guest house. Click here to view location/directions.

The Merry Ploughboy located on the outskirts of Dublin is another option. Again enjoy an excellent evening of dining and traditional Irish entertainment. This pub is little more difficult to get to but we are happy to arrange a taxi to the venue and back or there is a shuttle service operating from the  city centre to the venue. Entertainment Tours
If you would rather do a pub crawl or a fun and entertaining  walking tour of Dublin then please ask us about the Literary and Musical Pub Crawls of Dublin. Both tours are extremely popular and they are a great way to meet other people whilst also enjoying the odd pint or two on the way!
